- Quarterly sweep plus a light power-wash keeps algae at bay.
- Top-up kiln-dried sand every 12–18 months to lock joints tight.
- Spray a weed-prevent herbicide each spring if you don’t seal the surface.
- Re-seal every 4–5 years to protect colour and repel stains.

After researching for a while, I chose Patio Paving (Driveway Paving) as Tony was quick to respond to my enquiry and answered all my questions and concerns. His quote was very reasonable for the amount of work required. He was also able to fit my job in quickly. His team showed up on time and worked so hard the job was done in under two days. They explained everything, were friendly and polite. The finished job was superb and they cleaned and tidied up afterwards. I cannot recommend them enough.+0Posted on Google

After being told we would have to wait for at least six weeks to have a patio installed, the job taking a week to do, and having been quoted an extortionate amount of money for the privilege, we had a look around, and thanks to Microsoft Copilot and Google Maps reviews, we decided to give Tony a call. I called Tony on a Wednesday and by the following Wednesday, we already had our new patio. The lads arrived at 7:30 am and were finished by 4 pm on the same day. The service was second-to-none. I can't fault anything. The team were very friendly and efficient. Tony was very responsive. The price for the patio was very reasonable. The new patio installation has transformed our back garden. We are extremely happy with the level of work carried out by the five-man team. Thanks for everything, lads.+1Posted on Google

We had Tonys' lads out to install another 100m² of granite slabs & cobble sets. They did a fantastic job, yet again. They are a pleasure to work with, efficient, hard working & always willing to adapt plans as work progresses. I highly recommend this company for all your driveway & patio needs.+2

FAQs About Cobblelock Patio Paving in Dublin
1. How much does a cobblelock patio cost in Dublin?
Installed prices run from €80 to €115 per m², depending on block type, colour mix, borders and site access. We give a fixed written quote after a free survey.
2. How long does block paving installation take?
A typical 35–40 m² cobblelock patio is excavated, laid and jointed in three working days. You can walk on it immediately after compaction.
3. Will weeds grow between the blocks?
Keeping joints topped up with kiln-dried sand and applying a clear sealer greatly reduces weeds. An annual sweep and the occasional weed-killer spray normally keep joints spotless.
4. Can cobblelock handle cars or vans?
Yes—choose 60 mm blocks for occasional parking or 80 mm for regular vehicle loads. We simply beef up the sub-base thickness and edge restraints.
5. How do I stop the blocks sinking over time?
A 150-200 mm compacted hardcore base and proper edge restraints prevent movement.
6. Is cobblelock cheaper than sandstone or porcelain?
Generally yes—cobblelock is 10–25 % less than sandstone and far below high-end porcelain. It’s a cost-effective way to get a decorative, long-lasting patio.
